rhythm. sound. motion. waves.
After hearing a concert by the Moroccan group Asmâa Hamzaoui & Bnat Timbouktou, Flo was overwhelmed. Their music was based on only a handful of different rhythms, but these were in constant motion – getting faster, getting slower, changing continuously. Deeply touched by the resulting physicality of the music, Flo started to delve deeper into the nuances of rhythm and composed some first ideas and concepts. It took some time to find the right people to develop the music, but it was worth the wait. In the beginning of 2021 GYRE was born and two months after their first concert in September, the band won the 1st prize of the Lyceum Club competition. In 2022, GYRE had the honor of opening Jazzwerkstatt Bern - the same festival where Flo had heard the Moroccan group four years earlier.

alpha-ray - hybrid-pop
when asked to describe their music, the band chose:
trip-hop-inspired, jazz-infused, synthesizer-backed, hybrid-pop - and all these concepts are perceptible and audible when immersing into the alpha-sound.
their delicate mix of poetic and intimate storytelling - paired with edgy, electronic sounds and beats, creates a unique cosmos, to be experienced liveand on their releases "Times of Doubt" (2022) and "The Glasshouse" (2024).

OOOO
collective for sound, film, space.
A walkable instrument.
Immersive, multisensory, ever-changing.
OOOO sees itself as a changeable format -as a walk-in instrument that is reinterpreted in every performance. The basic structure consists of rotating, prepared vinyls, custom vinyls containing sine waves in chosen frequencies, analog effect units as filters for example, analog 16mm film projection and real-time manipulation of the film projection. The room itself becomes a resonating body and projection field. The audience is not separated from the stage but is in the middle of the installation.
